I hope you are having a great start to 2025. I have a lot of ambitious goals for this year, and one of them is to make more personal connections. It’s important to stay connected not just to other people but also to the world around us. How nature connects us together has been on my mind a lot lately and has been an inspiration for some of my art and my newest blog post.

What’s New?

I finished the grisaille (black and white) underpainting for my next piece; here’s a sneak peek of the painting! The next step is to start layering in the color. This is my first full painting where I’m using this new technique. I talked a bit in a previous email about using grisaille and falling in love with the colors, so I’m excited to share the final painting with you when I’m done.

Artwork Spotlight

This is my painting, Cosmic Waterfall. I was actually inspired to paint this from a dream I had where I jumped into a waterfall that flowed off the edge of the earth. I wanted this painting to show the connection between heaven and earth. Paper prints are available on my website.

Uplifting ARTicles

I’ve been very interested in this newer discovery that connections of fungal networks allow plants to communicate and share resources with each other. It makes me wonder about other ways things are connected. That’s what my newest article on my art blog is about. Give it a read here:
